“Building on the Early Foundations and Preparing for High Schools Readiness

Wellspring Middle School builds on the solid foundation from elementary school and prepares each student for a high school experience that leads to post-secondary readiness.

Wellspring Middle School provides a rigorous academic core that aligns with what students must know, understand, and be able to do to succeed in college-preparatory English, mathematics, social studies and science in high school.

The middle grades provide students with exciting learning opportunities. They are increasingly encouraged to think abstractly and envision themselves as part of a world community. They engage in new concepts and activities that will help them apply what they are learning.

Middle school courses include Humanities, which combines the disciplines of history and English language arts, while embracing other disciplines including economics, philosophy, ethics, and art history. In preparation for the rigors of high school, eighth-grade students take the Living Environment, U.S. History, and Algebra 1 regents examinations. This allows students to enter with high scores from middle school with high school credits and it paves the way for students to take college level and Advanced Placement coursework while in high school. Additionally, students take high-level technology courses where they learn how to program using the programming language Python and design programming platforms such as Tinkercad.

Middle school is organized to support the smooth transition toward the rigors of our college preparatory high school program. Our students encounter a rich program of core academic, language, visual and performing arts, and fascinating Islamic studies and Quran courses.
